Together we’re stronger

Maria Antuña is a pillar of our community, and she’s stepping up to lead as a candidate for the Wellington Village Council.

Maria S. Antuña, CEO of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County, has a rich history starting from her birth in Matanzas, Cuba, and immigrating to the USA in 1962. With a 45-year banking career, she concluded her tenure as Vice President of a major institution in April 2014. In November 2015, Maria joined the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as Executive Director, swiftly rising to the CEO position. Passionate about education, health, and business growth, Maria became a key advocate within Palm Beach County, earning numerous awards for the Chamber’s community dedication. She played a crucial role in the Chamber’s recognition as one of seven awarded the USHCC/MBDA partnership, providing emergency services to small businesses during the pandemic. Maria’s infectious enthusiasm and positive attitude, coupled with her commitment to supporting minority-owned businesses, have garnered her recognition and accolades over the years. Engaged in various boards and committees, Maria is a prominent figure in her community, and she and her husband Juan, married for 47 years, have been residents of Wellington, Florida, since 1978.

  • Recognized by Senator Rick Scott as a Hispanic Community Leader and received the Community Leadership Award from the Hispanic Education Coalition.
  • Received service recognition from West Palm Beach Mayor Keith James for her contribution to the Mayor’s Task Force for Racial and Ethnic Equality
  • Member of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce,Wellington Rotary Club, Criminal Justice Commission Board of PBC, and Vice-Chair of the Architectural Review Board for the Village of
    Wellington.
